Yamaha Wr450F Street Legal Canada
Does anyone know if I can make WR450F Street legal? I just don`t want to buy a bike and I can`t put it on the street. Otherwise, I get the kawasaki 400 (suzuki drz400) They told me that if it`s not a dual lens of the Yamaha, then I can`t modify it. I went to a Yamaha dealership this morning. They told me they could offer me a 2005 WR450F. I then decided to order one from them. They added in the contract that if the bike is not on the road, I will get my money back. I have a 99 WR 400 homologated for the street, so I do not understand why the 450 cannot be registered. It`s easy to turn on the lights and everything else, but the trick is in the serial number. Transport Canada`s federal regulations pretty much state that — Well, I need to know for sure whether or not I can put it on the road. 😢 I think I need to check with the dealer first? How the hell can I get him to be put up for the street| Of course, thanks to your modifications, you have met all the requirements for a vehicle that is legally called “road enduro” by the government. You need to find this legal description for your province and do the mods.
www.yamaha-motor.com.au/products/motorcycle/offroad/enduro/15-wr450f In Australia, it`s a bread and butter bike for land, road and adventure. You will receive the registration form (pink piece of paper) and the insurance certificate. You should also have a copy of the provincial requirements for your road enduro with you to show ignorant cops who don`t believe your ride is legal. If you are arrested, they can give you a ticket for one of the provincial requirements that are not being met, and that is it. Perhaps they could argue that it was registered in the wrong category, but Yamaha gave it 17 numbers in the serial number so that it could be registered as a road enduro once all the specific requirements (mods) are met. Next, Yamaha is expected to sell the 450F, which, as in Australia, is equipped with road homologation, factory turn signals and mirrors. I will try to get more information from a Yamaha dealer. I just don`t want to buy a $9000 motorcycle and then I can`t make it road legal The fact that Yamaha gave the WR450 17 numbers in their serial number helps make it legal on the road. 😢 I could wait for the 2016 450F with the engine reversed. The transition to road homologation is not that difficult for this bike. It`s ~280 lbs wet. My plans are to put it on the road over the winter, so I`ve been researching the legal aspects lately and frostbite has summed it up right from the start of this forum.
So basically, I really don`t know what I`m going to do, and I probably won`t take a step until next spring anyway. 17 is the magic number. 😢 Well, thanks for the info, at least there is hope. But next spring, there will still be 04 DRZ and WRF, so the wait won`t cost me anything, especially since the flying season is coming to an end and it`s starting to fly!!! The Yamaha motorcycle inspection pre-delivery checklist has been made available to the CUSTOMER at the time of delivery. I looked at a few KTMs that are also bisport, there`s a 625SMC or something in Saskatoon that you can have for $8400, again a pretty big bike and a lot of $$$$$$$. I also don`t know (and neither do dealers) if Suzuki is making any major changes to the DRZ, like a 450. YAMAHA accepts no liability for any damage to your vehicle or personal injury resulting from negligence or lack of experience in preparing your motorcycle for storage. I spoke to several Blackfoot Motorsports salespeople in Calgary and they told me that the switch from WRF to dual sport is not an issue and has been done several times. There are some bargains in Calgary right now also on the WRF, as cheap as $6500. There are a lot of deals on DRZ right now, at Camrose go can get a Model S for $5700 + GST, which is a very good deal!! You must be a member to leave a comment. All you have to do is bring your purchase information/serial number as well as your valid insurance to the vehicle department for registration and ask them to insure them as “road enduro”. I`m a Honda fan and with the release of the 450X this might be a good bike to convert, but it`s also getting expensive !!!,somewhere in the $8400 range. The engine is more compact and lighter than the previous WR450F and has been redesigned to deliver stronger, more controllable performance. Yamaha says it`s essentially the new generation YZ450F, but it`s tuned for enduro. The intake/exhaust, aggressive cam profiles and ECU settings are designed to achieve a balance between performance and control. The weight has been lowered for better balance and easier handling. It also increases the compression ratio from 12.8:1 to 13:1. The WR450F`s five-speed transmission offers an improved feel, increased durability and shorter stroke with a shorter gearbox from first to third and fifth gear. Change of address or other ownership information If you are moving after purchasing your motorcycle, please contact the DEALER who will forward the required information to YAMAHA. Provide the dealer with the model name and serial number on the N.V.I.S., as well as your new mailing address (or other information). This ensures that YAMAHA has an up-to-date registration record. I just called the Quebec SAAQ (where you get the cars, truck and motorcycle).
I`m in the same boat. I bought my 04WR450 a few months ago and rode here in Alberta 😢 in the foothills of Waiprous/McClean and a bit on the Blackfoot track. I had the DRZ400E and while a good bike was too heavy and soft for serious terrain, the engine needed a little help. It is easier to remove lighting sets than to buy spare parts and put them on. By SpykeYs, the 19th September 2004 in Dual Sport & Adventure Moto Original Equipment The tires supplied as original equipment on your motorcycle are warranted separately by the respective tire manufacturer or its representatives. In general, this warranty covers defects in workmanship or materials. The YZ450F is a serious machine popular with trail and enduro runners who are not influenced or put off by its high-performance capabilities. Based on Yamaha`s flagship motocross, the WR450F will receive several upgrades for the 2021 model year, including unique parameters for enduro riding. If you then record it, when the people in the motor vehicle department do what you say and do not sit there and talk to you about it, they can register it as “road enduro.” .
